The course will provide an introduction to genomics, bioinformatics tools, and data analysis. The course is tailored to undergraduate students in biology but the content is also appropriate for graduate students.

Letter grades are as follows:
Exams: Students will be given a full class period to complete exams. Exams will consist of multiple choice, fill in the blank, and short answer questions. Exams will cover both the lecture and laboratory material.
Reading assignments: Students will write a 3-4 sentence summary of assigned readings. Reading assignments are due the day they are assigned in the schedule.
Writing assignment: Students will critique a manuscript following the standard rules for peer review.
Lab exercises: Students will complete computer lab exercises (15 in total) and turn them in during class.
Lab notebook: Students will keep a lab notebook and turn it in on the last day of class.
